Involving refugees and migrants in integration activities

The number of people who have moved to the Nordic countries is increasing and our societies have become more diverse. Making sure the newly arrived and minority groups find a home and become included in our Nordic societies is one of the key challenges in the Nordics, and a priority all over the region. Yet, the authorities and organizations working with integration do not really reflect this diversity.

The aim of the webinar is to discuss and inspire to actively involve refugees and migrants in the integration activities.

The following things, among others, are discussed:

  • Why is it important to involve refugees and migrants in integration activities?
  • How can authorities and civil society actors better involve refugees and migrants in developing activities to improve integration and inclusion? What are the challenges and gaps?
  • How can the public authorities in the Nordic countries ensure that important communication reaches population groups with migrant backgrounds?

The Red Cross and Rambøll present findings from two recent Nordic projects during the webinar. The results and experiences will be discussed with experts and representatives from the Nordic Migrant Expert Forum
