Drinking habits among young people and the elderly
Public health
The Nordic Welfare Centre welcomes you to a seminar on drinking habits among youth and the elderly in the Nordic countries, 28 August 2018.
At the seminar we will present findings from a forthcoming report mapping current Nordic research on young peoples’ drinking habits and the driving forces contributing to the declining trend in drinking among youth.
We welcome all with a professional or personal interest in current knowledge about drinking habits among young people and the elderly.
An upcoming publication exploring the effect of increased drinking among the elderly on the health and care systems will also be presented. The publication will shed light on the issue of increasing drinking among older age groups from several viewpoints, such as professionals’ experiences of alcohol related issues among clients in home care and in care homes, intervention models for the elderly in home care, and alcohol use in retirement homes.
More information on speakers and the programme can be found here
The seminar is a side event for the Nordic Alcohol and Drug Researchers’ Assembly (NADRA) 2018.
The seminar will be held at Litteraturhuset starting at 14.15 and ending at 16.00, room: Nedjma.
