Negativ social kontroll
Project aimed at identifying and training individuals to support diverse migrant groups to access accurate legal information and education.
Teori och kunskap
Bridge Builders is an EU Erasmus Plus partnership which brought together Law for Life, the Icelandic Human Rights Centre and French NGO Avijed. The ‘Bridge Builders’ project aims at identifying and training individuals to support diverse migrant groups within the partner’s countries in welcoming and assisting new-comers. The aim is to enable non-lawyers supporting migrants and new-comers to access accurate legal information and education in order to reach more new-comers who otherwise may not be assisted.
The target group is community leaders in diverse ethnic and language groups within the partner’s countries/regions.
The expected result is creating a framework for a welcoming interview and outlining interviewing methodologies, facilitation and approaches and defining ways of reaching new-comers both from EU and other.
The project is designed for being carried out by people with insight into immigrant society in each partner state and with knowledge of Immigrant issues.
Results are mostly expected to be seen through more people being contacted and helped with integrating into society.
Mostly through registration of appointments and seminars and information on the Bridge Builders facebook site.
No evaluation has been made of the initiatives’ socio-economic outcome but the effort is expected to pay off in the slightly longer term since more immigrants/migrants will be able to uphold their rights and avoid exploitation.
