Webinarium: Usher syndrome in a digital world – Tech talks from the community
Funksjonshinder
Development of technology offers different kinds of solutions for everyday life. These solutions might pose both opportunities and challenges – especially for people with sensory impairment. In this webinar we will hear from different perspectives and experiences on using technology.
The network on Usher syndrome is hosting its first webinar focusing on these aspects. The aim of this network is to spread knowledge on Usher syndrome and provide a platform for professionals to meet and to share knowledge from working with the target group. Usher syndrome is a combined vision and hearing impairment with progressive course over the life span. The sensory losses affect people in different ways and lifelong support is often needed. If you want to know more the network, please visit Nordic Network on Usher syndrome.
Perspectives shared at the webinar will be from people with Usher syndrome and professionals working in the deafblind field.
Jenny Widmark and Moa Wahlqvist will guide you through the webinar, introducing some aspects of technology and we will hear from persons living with Usher syndrome who will share their perspectives on using technology and navigating through the digital world. We will look into if there are any specific technologies or devices that have enhanced participation, and if they have any advice for policy makers and designers on how to ensure that technology is inclusive and accessible.
