Webinar om Transcribing challenging communication: Why and how to do it in the practical field
Funksjonshinder
Reading and unlocking the nuances within spontaneous expressions from persons with deafblindness poses a challenge. Join us for a webinar that will showcase practical examples of transcribing and analysing multimodal interactions.
Spontaneous utterances from persons with visual impairment with additional disabilities (VIAD) or persons with congenital deafblindness (CDB) can be difficult to detect, perceive and understand for sighted and/or hearing communication partners. These utterances have in other words low readability. Transcription and analysis of multimodal interaction sequences opens a gateway to understanding these intricate forms of communication. This is useful for communication analysis and intervention in the practical field.
This webinar from The Nordic Network for Communicative Relations, will share examples of ways to transcribe and analyse multimodal interaction both for research and practical purposes.
Network members and external speakers share their methodologies for analysis and transcription. Together, we discuss how existing methods can be useful and what needs to be simplified and developed for use in the practical field.
