Konferanse: Co-creation of social services in Age-friendly cities and communities
Eldre Voksne Velferdspolitikk
The co-creation of social services with professionals, users, their families and across sectors is an integral part of developing inclusive and sustainable in future cities. Co-creation with diverse target groups opens up questions of how to best reach different groups and in what ways to include and co-create in a respectful, sustainable and productive way.
The co-creation of social services in age-friendly cities and communities is the topic of this year’s Nordic Day, which will be held in Antwerpen on 25 June in conjunction with the European Social Network (ESN) organising its annual conference on social services. The ESN conference focuses on how we can co-create community-based social services.
The Nordic Welfare Centre, which coordinates the Nordic Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities (NNAFCC), is hosting this year’s Nordic Day. The members of the NNAFCC are also part of the WHO Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities. The NNAFCC will present and discuss examples from Nordic cities of inclusion and co-creation of social services with older adults with migrant background.
The ESN conference highlights the various aspects related to social inclusion planning and its impact on vulnerable populations, including different planning and management strategies, integrated service delivery, co-production between professionals, service users, and their families, as well as the importance of digital social inclusion in technological advancements within social services.
– Co-creation of social services is an essential part of creating equal access to health and welfare services for all. The members in the Nordic network for age-friendly cities and communities strive to create inclusive age-friendly cities based on a strong principle of co-creation and inclusion for all target groups. The Nordic Day 2024 will present good examples from some of these cities with a focus on co-creation with older adults with migrant background, says Louise Scheel Thomasen, Senior Adviser at the Nordic Welfare Centre.
