This booklet is about TOGETHER Project which is aimed at making it easier for young refugees and single minors to get acquainted with their Norwegian peers.
The project has been established by the initiative of SOS Children’s Villages Norway and is being implemented in close cooperation with municipalities that settle single minor refugees. The essence of the project is that young people meet and do things together. Common interests are therefore an important key to what is also referred to as Young-to-Young Project. The purpose is to establish contact and friendship across language, cultural and experience barriers based on equality and reciprocity.
The project is referred to as an Integration Project. This means that the project has a bigger goal than establishing friendship. It will help to create a better understanding of other people’s backgrounds and ways of living, and to reduce prejudice and prevent xenophobia and discrimination.
