Kursus: Video analysis – A holistic perspective

Within the field of deafblindness, video analysis has been used as a tool commonly to understand various aspects of the individual’s development, and the relations they engage in. Traditionally one perspective at a time has been used in the analysis focusing on social relations and communication. Additionally, this course will use multiple models and perspectives to understand the person and the relation as a whole.
Please note that there are only 24 seats available for this course.

The course will cover issues such as 

• Why use video analysis?
• In which ways can we analyse a video sequence to understand the person’s potential?
• In which ways can we use video analysis to understand the interaction and cognitive supportive strategies used by the partner? 
• In which ways can the use of different models and perspectives contribute to the analysis?
• How can video analysis help us in planning new supportive interventions?
• How can video analysis be incorporated in guidance to support professionals and/or parents?

Form 

• The course consists of lectures, group discussions, and video analysis.
• The following models will be used as tools during the course:

Target group 

The target group for this course is professionals who:

1. support language development, communication forms and relational interactions for persons with a combined hearing and vision loss/deafblindness, sensory impairments or other functional impairments, and
2. could benefit from using video analysis both as an analytical tool and as a foundation in giving guidance to networks surrounding the person in need of support.

Language

The presentations will be in English, but you are welcome to use Scandinavian languages during discussions and interactions.

Due to the nature of the course, focusing on video analysis, there are only 24 seats available. Please register as soon as possible.

Price 

The price of the course is 1200 SEK, to be paid upon registration. Lunch is included. 
All participants need to book their own hotel and travel. These costs are not included in the courses fee and will be paid in full by the participants themselves.
If you need an interpreter, sign language or other, you need to plan for this yourself. But please inform us, so we can help coordinate.
