How do we communicate with more than one person at the same time without using our vision or hearing? There are many ways for communication partners to support and help develop tactile language in conversations with a person with congenital deafblindness. Our webinar series based on the book If you can see it, you can support it continues with this part, focusing on how tactile multi-party conversations can help develop language.
This webinar will highlight experiences, both practical and theoretical of tactile communication in a group och people. It is important for every child and every persons right to be their own person with thoughts and opinions that others listen to; likewise, to exist in communicative and social contexts in which they are given the opportunity to express themselves.
In this context, multi-party communication plays a major role for both those with congenital deafblindness and their communication partners. Out two lecturers Sofi Malmgren and Jessica Jägryd will explain how multi-party communication can work and the benefits of engaging in group discussions.
