Deafblind field
An accessible Nordic Region with equal opportunities for all.
Deafblindness is a combination of vision and hearing impairment that creates specific challenges in everyday life, particularly in communication, access to information and participation in society.
Nordic cooperation in the deafblind field strengthens knowledge development and enables countries to share experiences and expertise. This is particularly important as the deafblind field is relatively small in each individual Nordic country.
The deafblind field brings together and develops Nordic knowledge through networks, training, seminars, projects, expert groups and working groups. Through cooperation across national borders, knowledge and methods can be developed and shared, with the aim of promoting participation and equal opportunities for people with deafblindness.
