Nordiske alkohol- og stofforskningsdage 2020 (NADRA)
We warmly welcome Nordic researchers and others working with social and health approaches as well as alcohol, drug and gambling issues to the Nordic Alcohol and Drug Researchers’ Assembly (NADRA) at Hotel Arkipelag, Mariehamn, Åland 8 – 10 September 2020.
This year NADRA focuses on marginalization and complex problems as challenges for Nordic social sustainability. Participants are encouraged to submit thematic contributions regarding new and old marginalization, complex problem pictures, welfare state recalibration and gambling policies. Abstracts not related to these themes are also welcome.
Conference registration and abstract submission is now open. The deadline for registration and submission of abstracts is 30 April 2020.
The key-note talks will touch upon the following topics:

Keynote: Riikka Perälä, Dr.Mc.Soc., researcher, University of Helsinki Centre Research on Addiction, Control and Governance
Complex problem pictures and welfare state recalibration
Keynote: Bagga Bjerge, Associate professor at Aarhus University BSS, Centre for Alcohol and Drug Research, Department of Psychology and Behavioural Sciences
Gambling policy research
Keynote: Jenny Cisneros Örnberg, Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Department at Stockholm University, Department of Public Health Sciences
We warmly welcome abstracts related to these topics, as well as other topics within the field of social, alcohol and drug research. Abstracts can be written and presented in English, Swedish, Norwegian or Danish. Abstracts should be no longer than 400 words. We also welcome participants without abstracts.
The deadline for registration and submission of abstracts is 30 April 2020. Notification of accepted abstracts will be given 15 May 2020 per email.
The maximum number of participants is 70. Participants with accepted abstracts are prioritised. The registration fee is 100 euro.
The conference is organised and funded by the Nordic Welfare Centre, an institution under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The registration fee for the Nordic Alcohol and Drug Researcher´s Assembly is 100 euro and it includes lunches, coffees and participation in social activities. Invoices will be sent to all participants from 15 May 2020.
Refund of the registration fee:
Until 31 July 2020: 50%
After 31 July 2020: no refund
Participants are required to cover their own travel and accommodation fees.
Venue and accommodation
Hotel Arkipelag is located in the centre of Mariehamn, close to the sea. A quota of hotel rooms has been reserved for NADRA participants. Please book your room before 30 June by sending an e-mail to email@example.com (secure email) or by calling +358 18 24020, using the code NADRA. A single room is 140 euro per night.
We cannot guarantee that there are rooms available after 30 June, so please book your room before 30 June.

We invite all conference participants to participate in the welcome reception in the restaurant at Hotel Arkipelag on Tuesday 8 September.
We will book a table for a joint dinner on 8 September (after the welcome reception). Please let us know in the registration if you want to join us. The dinner will be self-funded.
The conference dinner will be held at Restaurant Smakbyn on Wednesday 9 September at 19:00. Smakbyn is close to Kastelholm, a stately medieval castle on the shores of Lumparn bay. A three-course meal is included in the registration fee. Drinks can be bought during the dinner. Bus transportation will be arranged from Hotel Arkipelag to Smakbyn and back. The bus trip takes approximately 20 minutes.
